Alde system All Alde heating and hot water systems work in the same way as a rule. They are split into two parts. Hot (domestic) water for your taps and shower. And a semi sealed solution of 50% water and 50% salt free anti freeze. This solution is pumped through pipes that run around the edge of your van. You then control both systems from a control panel. The heating system has various bleed valves located around the van and an expansion bottle that you top up from time to time. There are a couple of things to remember with this system. It needs to be recharged every 5 years and it can take up to an hour to fully heat up.  Please remember that any anti freeze is lethal to animals or humans if consumed.   © Art By Paul 2000-2018    Although you can set all the functions, such as the heating and hot water to what you want. None of them will actually work fully unless the control panel (3010) has been set to “ON”. To do this just follow this guide. If the display (A) shows OFF do the following. Press either of the      buttons until the word OFF/ON is flashing. Now press the ON (B) button so it displays the word ON. Then press the STORE (C) button. That’s it. PLEASE NOTE, you MUST always press the STORE (C) button whenever you change any settings on this control panel. A B C Right lets get the heating running. We wont worry if its gas or electric for now though. Just like before, I want you to bush either of the        buttons until the thermostat icon (A) flashes. Now this time either hold down or keep tapping the ON button (B) until you see the number 22 displayed as shown in the picture left. Finally, you need to press the STORE (C) button to accept the changes. That’s your heating set to heat up to 22c. Bare in mind if it is already over 22c in your van, or the panel is set to OFF (explained above) nothing will actually happen. Next we will switch the hot water on. WARNING, before doing this you MUST bleed the boiler. IE there is water coming from the HOT tap on any sink in the van. Failure to do this may damage the boiler. If you are unsure CLICK HERE. Right so assuming you have already filled the boiler I want you to do the same as you did with the other settings. use the         buttons to make the tap icon (A) flash. Now press the ON (B) button. And finally the STORE (C)  button. By the way, you can only select ON/OFF for the water as the temperature is fixed on the 3010. A B C Next we will switch the gas on. I want you to do the same as you did with the other settings. use the         buttons to make the gas icon (A) flash. Now press the ON (B) button. And finally the STORE (C) button. By the way, you can only select ON/OFF for the gas  on the 3010. Finally we will now select how much power your Alde system will consume. The main reason for this is to prevent you from tripping the camp sites fuses. In a nutshell, if you are on a site that is restricted to 4 amps (1KW) then using over this amount on the Alde system will cause the system to switch the hot water off until you fall below that amount. To understand more about power, hookups etc. please view the POWER page. Right, lets just assume you are on an 8 amp (2KW) site. You do exactly the same as before. Select the little box with the lightning symbol and then use either the ON/OFF buttons to raise/lower the kilowatts. Then press the STORE (C) button. That’s everything you need to get you started.
